Stunning
26 February 2018
‘Ama Dablam is, without a doubt, one of the most stunning mountains in the world.’ So begins Tim Mosedale’s invitation to climb it. At 6812m, it’s well above Mont Blanc (4810m) and the Matterhorn (4478m). Technically, the SW ridge is described as HVS at altitude with sustained exposure, extreme at times.
It will be a real pleasure to be there, to walk the Khumbu Trail, visiting Namche Bazaar and the monastery at Tengboche. I know these names from other people’s stories. Now, they’re becoming part of my own. I’ll be needing some new kit.
